Shelter Update
Well, it’s been a busy season overall, and our second circuit has been going well. So far we have had 23 positive move on’s, which is fantastic!
We’re in the final stretch now, with only a month to go - time has flown so fast!
We continue to be humbled and inspired by the generosity and kindness of our volunteers and venues - it really does take a village, thank you so much for being part of the Robes tribe.
High impact Award
Robes attended the Donup event launch, connecting local businesses with local charities in Southwark. We were honoured to be given an award celebrating the impact we make within the Southwark Community.
wednesday club
We’ve welcomed a number of new shelter guests to Wednesday Club since the season has begun, and it’s lovely to be able to support current and former guests together.
Nexus Planning were our latest corporate team to come and help out at Wednesday Club, and we have some more corporate teams in the pipeline.
We’ve had a couple of new volunteers join our Wednesday Club regulars over the last few months also. Huge thanks to them all for the wonderful food and constant banter - Wednesday Club is such a lovely place for our guests largely due to our wonderful volunteers.
New Interim Shelter Coordinator
Hafza has left for pastures new, and we’d like to thank her for all her efforts - she really helped get the shelters back and running after the pandemic restrictions.
We’re really pleased that Macey has stepped into her role to hold the fort for the time being, and know that this will mean a smooth transition for all those still delivering shelter services
HOMEWARDS
We’re really proud that Robes is part of the Homewards Coalition, working together with other agencies across Lambeth to end rough sleeping, spearheaded by Prince William and the Royal Foundation.
This week Robes were one of many local agencies who came together to share ideas, share best practice, and think about where the gaps are around homelessness in Lambeth.
regular giving
Here at Robes, we really appreciate the donations we receive that enable us to provide the services to support our local homeless guests.
If you, or someone you know, could support us with a monthly donation, it would really help.
It doesn’t have to be a huge amount - for the price of a cup of tea a week over the month, we could provide a guest with a £10 mobile phone top up, to look for work and stay in touch with loved ones.
