FRUITFUL YEAR
Despite the past 2 years being very difficult to operate as a small homeless charity, we continue to adapt and be a frontline provider of some of the best and most needed services locally. This is thanks to our wonderful volunteers, church supporters, fundraisers, local partners, staff and our trustees.

SLEEPOUT 2021
Thank you so much for making this year’s Southwark Cathedral Sponsored SleepOut 2021 possible. After two long years of not being able to have a face to face SleepOut, we were finally able to do it in person this year. We had a great line-up of evening entertainment with BAFTA award-winning actor Toby Jones, BGT semi-finalist Shalom Chorale and many others joining us for the night. We have raised over £30,000 so far. Thank you to the SleepOut Committee, Trustees, Volunteers, Staff and Southwark Cathedral for making this happen.
PROJECT UPDATE
TUESDAY CLUB
Robes in partnership with Holy Trinity Church work together to support over 70 people out of homelessness and also prevent vulnerable adults and families from becoming homeless. We provide advice services for many of the guests: preventing eviction, dealing with financial problems, helping to get access to vital health services and much more. Since May 2021, we have provided 2,206 hot lunch meals and 216 advice sessions.
ROBES STATIC SHELTER - DAVIES COURT AND FRIENDSHIP HOUSE
Robes has 23 Covid safe rooms this winter, 5 rooms at Friendship House for those under 35 years where they can stay for up to 9 months and then move on into longer term solutions. We also have 18 rooms at Davies Court from November 1st 2021 - March 31st 2022. Our volunteers have been brilliant in providing our guests at Davies Court with a Hot Dinner Service that is Covid safe on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sunday evenings and with some much needed social interaction. We have also seen donations of some amazing winter coats, laptops, scarves and Christmas presents for our guests this winter.
GUEST STORIES
JOE
Joe was at risk of homelessness after the council moved him from Temporary Accommodation into an accommodation he could not afford.
Robes contacted the landlord and arranged with them a reduction on the cost of his rent until a boost up of his income could be triggered when a decision on his Personal Independence and other benefits was made.
We also represented the client with a formal complaint to a Local Council that formalised in him being put on the Biding Scheme for Council Flats, and the guaranty of him being moved back into Temporary Accommodation if at any point his accommodation became unsustainable again.
His situation now has been stabilized, as he is receiving the full amount of money he is entitled, and he is very thankful of Robes Staff as they were always in touch and supporting him during those times of anxiety when his issues were neglected by the Council, and he felt overwhelmed with the fear of homelessness.
