If you are sleeping rough on the streets:

Submit a STREET LINK alert - www.thestreetlink.org.uk

· The alert is sent to the correct local outreach teams so that they can find you and help you connect with support services that are only available to verified rough sleepers.
· After submitting an alert if you move to another location to sleep please update your StreetLink alert by contacting StreetLink.
· Please stay always safe, if you need urgent attention, please call 999 or 111.

Please note, Streetlink can ONLY help you if you are sleeping rough, and aim to locate you within 72 hours of you making the referral. The more information you provide the better.

If you are sofa surfing or worried to lose your accommodation:

use SHELTER Free Helpline -

use free shelter helpline - call 0808 800 4444 (8am - 6pm weekdays)

Or look at the resources on their website. Shelter can help to individuals and families that:

  • Have nowhere to sleep, or might be homeless soon

  • Have somewhere to sleep, but nowhere to call home

  • Are/could be at risk of harm

  • Feel very overwhelmed about your current housing situation

If the service is closed or you can’t get through visit https://england.shelter.org.uk/housing_advice

Please note that on risk of eviction scenarios, having the relevant documents to hand (tenancy agreements, council letters etc.) will help Shelter understand and deal with your problem easier.

If you are looking for a space in a Winter Night Shelter:

In order to access our Winter Shelter we require a referral from one of our partner day centres or the homeless outreach teams in Southwark and Lambeth. Day centres help people facing homelessness with a variety of services including showers, cheap or free hot meals and advice. As Day centres can be busy places with lots of things going on. It is vital that when you arrive, always make it clear to a staff member or volunteer that you would like to see an Advice Worker!
