Volunteer
Our amazing volunteers are essential to the success of Robes, and are hugely appreciated. If you’re ready to smile, cook or chat, then this is your chance to bring extra cheer to our guests lives and yours. It’s volunteers like you who make our work with those experiencing homelessness possible. See volunteering opportunities below.
Wednesday Club
The Wednesday Club is our day centre based in Elephant and Castle where guests and former guests are welcome all year around, where they can receive breakfast, a hot nutritious lunch, and showers. Wednesday Club is a chance for our guests to connect with their community, play some games, have some laughs, and our dedicated advice workers are on hand to assist with any challenges they might be facing. The day centre is open every Wednesday from 10:30 am – 2:30 pm.
On a normal day, we have roughly 5-7 volunteers working alongside the Robes Project staff. Our volunteers help us in a large variety of ways:
-
Preparing lunch
-
Chatting with guests
-
Cleaning and closing the centre
- Setting up the centre
- Managing the guest list and shower list
- preparing breakfast
