WHAT’S IT ALL ABOUT?
This is a simple way that local eateries (and drinkeries!) can help support local charity, Robes, in their mission of providing care and options to those experiencing homelessness across Southwark and Lambeth.
For the month of August, participating venues choose one dish (or drink) to become a “Chow Down” Special. Any time someone orders this dish in August, the price is donated to Robes.
WHY SHOULD I TAKE PART?
Homelessness is on the rise – just in the last year there were 11,993 individual people found rough sleeping on the streets of London by homeless outreach teams. There are thousands more who are sofa surfing, or who are staying in insecure short term accommodation like hotel rooms. This is an opportunity for your business to join the fight against homelessness and to support those in your local community.
HOW DO I PROCEED?
- Get in touch to let us know you want to take part – robes.admin@robes.org.uk
- Choose a dish / drink to make your “ChowDown Special” for the month of August
- We’ll be in touch to drop off some business sized cards you can give to customers explaining the Chow Down, to thank you in person, and if you’re agreeable, we can also leave a charity collection box with you for the month for any extra donations.
- Download the social media post above to show your followers the good you are doing in the community – we’ll be giving a shout out to participating venues on our socials too.
- Send in the proceeds of your ChowDown Special! These funds will help us support vulnerable people this Winter, by providing warmth, safety and support to find a home.
