CURRENT AND UPCOMING PROJECTS

This winter, Robes will have 15 rooms available for guests experiencing homelessness from November 2021 until April 2022 at LHA Friendship House, Borough.

Our day club at Crossways URC Church Elephant and Castle, will reopen in September on Thursdays. Tuesday Club, based at Holy Trinity Hall Clapham, will continue to provide essential provisions, meals and advice each week.

In addition we are working hard to identify the safest way to reopen a Robes church based shelter this season, following the recommendation of Public Health and the guidance of our night shelter network. We look forward to providing an update once our winter season plans are finalised.

Through these different projects across Southwark and Lambeth, Robes are committed to reaching many more people experiencing homelessness and hardship this year and to ensure they are provided with care, support and opportunities.

VOLUNTEER WITH ROBES

Robes staff want to thank our brilliant volunteers who ensure the smooth running of Tuesday Club and create a welcoming, supportive environment every week. We recently have had a couple ex guests volunteering at Tuesday Club and creating even more of a sense of community.

There will be more opportunities to volunteer with Robes this Autumn. So if you enjoy cooking or more general volunteering to help people experiencing homelessness and hardship in your local area, we have opportunities at our day clubs on Tuesdays in Clapham Common, or Thursdays in Elephant and Castle. STORAGE UNIT NEEDED!

We are looking for a new storage unit for our night shelter bedding. A space of 450 square meters in a good condition is required. Please contact us at admin.robes@robes.org.uk if you have any leads.

SUMMER STAFF DAY OUT

Robes Staff Marc, Barina, Isabel and Nick, went for a paddle last week, setting off from Limehouse Basin, winding our way along the canals of East London to the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park – then back again!
