Robes AGM 2020

On the 24th of September we hosted our first ever virtual Annual General Meeting. We are thrilled that 38 people joined us via Zoom. It is the highest number of attendees we have ever had for an AGM.

Starting off with a welcome by George Martin, Chair of the Trustees, the meeting provided an overview of Robes’ projects and outcomes for the year, with staff sharing details and guest experiences. Robes Treasurer and Trustee, Luke Whiteman answered questions and presented the annual accounts and financial statements.

The meeting also included a Trustee re-election poll for our members hosted by Robes Manager Nick Faraday. Wendy Thompson, Timothy Howse, and Luke Whiteman were all successfully re-elected. The meeting ended with a lively Q&A. The participation on the night was fantastic, with many questions and suggestions from the audience. Thank you everyone who attended and a special thanks to Caroline Clifford for taking the minutes.

Actions completed to help guests

This graph illustrates how measures are taken to support guests move on into sustainable accommodation, find independence, put in place a support system, and gain a better quality of life.

Many of our guests have had positive conclusions despite the pandemic. On top of the Accommodation measures we complete, there are a significant amount of actions taken in wider areas relating to the guest’s life and wellbeing.

Who are our guests?

Last season, our shelter had an increase in the amount of female guests. We also saw an increase in numbers of under 35s attending the shelter.

Robes support people from all over the world, and alongside our UK national guests last season (24), we worked with many guests from countries such as Eritrea and Ethiopia, with 34 guests from Africa attended the shelter. We also continue to work with many Eastern European guests from countries such as Romania and Poland (21).
